Maximising the Efficiency of Multi-Country CATI Projects
07.09.2010
authensis´ CEO Klaus-J. Zschaage presented his vision on maximizing the efficiency of multi-country CATI surveys at the Gallup International Association (GIA) annual conference in Vienna this year. This conference was organized for the 63rd time and for the first time in cooperation with the Worldwide Independent Network of Market Research (WIN).
Being a new supplier of dialler technology to the Gallup International Association, authensis was asked to talk about technological aspects of automatic and distributed diallers and their effect on the efficiency and effectiveness of CATI surveys, especially in multi-country settings.
Just one example: The VoIP technology gives market research institutes and field service companies a new grade of flexibility within their network to assign native speakers to any survey at very short notice.
So, for example, when needing French native speaking interviewers in a survey conducted in Great Britain and addressing UK inhabitants, why not assign French speaking interviewers in Algeria? If the internal IP network reaches out from UK to Algeria and is VoIP ready (e.g. using MPLS), this can be done by just a sign-on of the Algerian interviewer into the UK survey. Consequently, the survey will not only be controlled by the UK institute´s CATI system, but also be dialled-out to the respondent at the UK site, using a UK number towards the respondent. Only internally, the voice will be transported by IP to the Algerian workplace, just as the CATI forms´ contents will be.
If the same survey would address Algerian inhabitants instead, the survey again could be e.g. controlled at the UK institute´s site, but being dialled out using diallers situated in Algeria. But that´s another story…
